On November 23, 2023, our water source was sampled and failed. Our distribution systems was tested on the same day and passed, so we did not see the need to post a "Boil Water Notice". We knew the failure came from contamination in the line preceding the treatment system. The contamination never reached the distribution system.
Once we were notified of the source sample failure, we took the recommended action. We flushed the line and submitted 5 more samples. Two of these samples also failed, but after flushing the line again and submitting an additional 5 additional samples, all 5 samples passed. The source sample failure was addressed and corrected in November of 2023.
In March of 2024 Daniel Osborn of Columbia County informed us that we failed to report and failed to post a "Boil Water Notice". Posting a "Boil Water Notice" 4 months after the incident and 4 months after the failure was corrected did not seem to be a necessary course of action.
